The task

EQC were tasked with providing a roofing solution as part of the construction of a new 1,000 pupil post-primary school and a 24 classroom primary school situated in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin.

The building design brief required a standing seam built up roof system that meets all the thermal & acoustic performance, functionality & design standards.

Our process

EQC liaised closely with the roofing contractor BRFS - who we previously worked with on another school cladding project, for Lusk School & GP Hall - providing on-site rolling facility.

This produced the EQC standing seam roof sheets of up to 16 meter lengths in 0.9mm aluminium stucco embossed plain mill finish.

EQC'S SOLUTION

The EQC standing seam system was the right choice for this school roofing project - it was able to meet the design requirements needed to achieve aesthetically yet functional design for the roof of the school.

EQC'S SOLUTION - continued

EQC Seam incorporating non-combustible mineral wool quilt provided the fire performance, sound reduction and thermal performance required to meet the technical guidance performance of the Department of Education & Skills - a pre-requisite of school construction projects.
